The "VISITING" series takes us to the many diverse neighborhoods of Southern California, and introduces us to the people who live there. "VISITING" has captured the spirit of the Southland with episodes ranging from a look at how menudo is made to the celebration surrounding the rededication of Angeles Flight. LA Times critic Howard Rosenberg calls Huell's style, "Intimate,magnificently unslick, utterly charming, and absolutely irresistible." Viewers agree, and VISITING With HUELL HOWSER continues to be one of the most popular programs on KCET - PBS Los Angeles. Visiting...With Huell Howser #115 - TREESFirst we spend some time at the Historic Orange Grove at Cal. State Northridge. It is one of the last remaining groves in the area, a treasure that the university is anxious to preserve. Next we visit the fabulous Rain Forest at Paradise Canyon Elementary School in La Canada. Here the first grade class has demonstrated their impressive knowledge by creating a rain forest right in the classroom.

Lesley has photo- graphed and researched over 1,200 names of apartments throughout the Southland. Also meet two people who actually have apartments named for them. Later visit with a man who has realized his dream of building a castle.
Visiting...With Huell Howser #118 - BRAILLE GARDENERSShare a bittersweet day with Huell as he visits with two blind gardeners, inspiring ladies who share their feelings about life as visually impaired persons. It's all part of a program sponsored by the Braille Institute.
Visiting...With Huell Howser #119 - LIBRARYIn view of the city's closing of many branch libraries we all know and love, Huell has a poignant visit with Penny Markey and other County of Los Angeles Public Library employees as well as their patrons.
Visiting...With Huell Howser #120 - HOLLYWOOD FARMERS MARKETBrowse the stalls and exhibits at the popular Hollywood Farmers Market where farmers and merchants come from all parts of the state to sell their produce, flowers, fresh baked breads and unique arts and crafts. The market is open every Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the middle of Hollywood on Ivar Street between Hollywood Boulevard and Selma Avenue.

Visiting...With Huell Howser #122 - GARDENSThis is a two-part program about interesting gardens. In the first part we visit with Ernie LaMere, the creator of Ernie's Walk. Ernie has converted a quarter-mile along the Los Angeles River from a garbage dump into a beautiful, and sometimes whimsical promenade. In the second part we visit the Japanese Garden which is actually the Tillman Water Reclamation Plant. Eugene Green takes us on an informative tour of the facilities illustrating how sewage water is reclaimed to nourish this exquisite garden.

Eddie, a retired longshoreman, is an accomplished banjo player who has been the mentor to many musicians who love mountain music. They come from all over to jam with this San Pedro legend.
